Discover the history of Chicago rock and roll radio through the extraordinary career of Dick Biondi, one of the 20th century’s most influential broadcasters. Program includes a prevue of the film, a Dick Biondi memorabilia table, and lively conversation.
In the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, Hall of Fame DJ Dick Biondi introduced rock and roll to teens in Chicago and nationwide, debuted the Beatles in the U.S. and promoted icons like Elvis, the Rolling Stones, and Chicago’s own legendary bands.
Program 2: The Beat That Changed the World
A musical journey through the early years of rock ‘n’ roll
Trace the roots of rock music and its cultural revolution from the 1940s to the 1970s, featuring iconic artists like Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Chuck Berry, Elvis, The Beatles, Muddy Waters and Bo Diddley.

Program 3: Chicago Pop Radio Wars of the 1960s & 70s
A behind-the-scenes look at Chicago’s two competing superstations, WLS and WCFL. Discover how deeply Chicago shaped music, broadcasting, and pop culture in this 1-hour program featuring videos and audio from Chicago’s top jocks, Dick Biondi, Ron Riley, Larry Lujack, with interviews by WCFL’s creator Ken Draper.
